Interests

- Images above
- The images above are a little difficult to distiguish. They are pictures of me playing my Taylor Guitar, working on a cradle for my first granddaughter, and setting up my telescope.
- Strengths Philosophy
- The impact of inherent strengths on the success of individuals is of particular interest to me. There is an instrument called the Clifton StrengthsFinder, which provides insight into one's inherent strengths and how to capitalize upon them. This whole subject falls under positive psychology and is very interesting.
- Music
- I enjoy playing Guitar and Bass and recording music. I've written a couple of songs. As you probably know, such songs are often best left in the home recording studio. Such is the case with my work. My family loves my effort, but isn't that the nature of family? They'll put up with a lot!
- Woodworking
- I enjoy doing mother of pearl inlay on musical instruments, building cradles, and other furniture.
- Ham Radio
- I hold an extra-class license and have enjoyed communicating with people as far away as japan using HF as well as all over the world using 2 meter with voice over IP.
- Hiking / running / cycling
- I've enjoyed hiking the local areas such as Red Rock Canyon, Zion, etc., which has evolved into running and cycling. I hope to do a triathlon some day, which means that I'm going to have to learn to swim.
- Photography
- Landscape, etc.; using Photoshop
- Astonomy
- Just looking at the cool dots in the sky with my telescope
- Web Page Programming
- HTML, JAVASCRIPT, COLDFUSION, FLASH
- Lastly
- One of the things that I love most to do is bring a smile to my wife's face :).
